Detroit Zoo Activation: The Power of Poo
The Detroit Zoo came to Doner asking to do something that would draw in more Millennials. There were very few limitations and the opportunities enormous; it was one of the best tasks I've been given! I was selected to be on the project by two ECDs and the SVP, Director of Creative Services. My idea made it into the final deck for the client. The client has not chosen an idea yet. IDEA The Detroit Zoo has an anaerobic digester - a machine that converts poop into energy. Animal poop fuels the energy to run the zoo animal hospital, something Millennials would LOVE to know. So I ran with it. Why not make this little known fact more widely known in a fun and interactive way? Realistic looking "poop" is placed throughout Metro Detroit in outside areas. The "poop" piles are actually charging hubs for all electric devices: outlets for computers and USB ports are visible on the pile of poo. Piles would be placed in parks, on high-traffic sidewalks, near coffeeshops and local businesses, etc.
